Latest Discoveries

Aussie Patches added these enchanting handmade soft Matryoshka (Russian Stacking doll) today, I couldn't resist and bought two, I've been waiting to acquire a piece of work by this talented artist and the wait was worth it. They are rather Kokeshi-esque in style too. I read somewhere that Matryoshka might have been influenced by wooden Kokeshi dolls. I really like the softness and textural aspects of Aussie Patches' versions. You can find her Etsy shop here, and her blog here (she writes about the creation of the dolls, very sweet stuff).

Alicia Rosam is the artist behind "Aussie Patches", you must check out the rest of this talented girl's work: www.alijart.com

Also today, I came across the work of Samuel Ribeyron, a French artist I found through El Petirrojo. I don't understand a single word on either site, but art is wonderful and multi-lingual like that. You can find Samuel Ribeyron's blog here and keep up with his activities. Very charming work!
