♬ Currently Listening To:

And I can't wait for Beirut's new album, Rip Tide, on August 30th. First two songs I've heard are already stuck lovingly in my head: "East Harlem" and "Goshen". Listen and I promise no regrets.

Encore!

Passion Pit-Sleepyhead from ssarenofun1 on Vimeo.

I posted this before, or maybe only on Facebook... LOVE this song by Passion Pit, "Sleepyhead". Before today I had only seen the one thumpin' video and now I discovered the awesome one above... These guys have more fun than you can shake a stick at.

On An Animation High

I grew up listening to The Beatles and always marvel at their exploration of new sounds and identities. You can listen to any one of their songs and continue to find something new, little elements that makes them the creative and masterful innovators they were. I SUPER HEART The Beatles.

New Wave All The Way

does this date me? (I love how the tape inside the cassette changes sides slowly as the music is played, ahh just like the orginal, only now you can skip ahead to the next song with greater proficiency and the tape never wears, gotta love technology)

THERE USE TO BE A MIX TAPE YOU COULD LISTEN TO HERE... GUESS LIKE ALL GOOD THINGS, IT HAS COME TO AN END.

Late 80s with kool-aid dyed pinkish hair and bleached topped Damon (who would later go on to completely shave his head... such a punk ;) )

Halloween 1989, with my best friend Andie (girl kneeling in ultra rockin' striped pants) aka Black Rat.

1990 at my grandpa's farm in Kansas with my cousin Ryan. I'm wearing pajama bottoms and a boyfriend's Morrissey shirt, cool even on horseback. ha. And, YES these are real Polaroids...

Ear Candy $0.00

Stereogum.com has pulled some strings and had R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People (originally released 10/5/92) remade into a tribute album by a great collection of musicians, including one of my favorites Sara Quin, from Tegan and Sara. Get the all 13 cover songs free, download it here.

Free I tell ya!!! Do it NOW.

I Lived on the Moon

Video animation by Yannick Puig, inspired by Kwoon's, "I Lived on the Moon" from their album "Tales and Dreams".

Simply beautiful.
