This girl is "one to watch" for sure! She's an animator, illustrator, unicorn lover and all around fun gal who also happens to speak Japanese and French. Eliza Frye lives in Los Angeles, California and recently moved into her own studio space with an adjoining gallery next door aka Miss Scarlet in the Parlor
Take a peek:

Eliza creates comics both in traditional printed format and online. In Fact!! She was nominated this year for an Eisner Award for her digital comic The Lady's Murder. CONGRATS ELIZA!

Kokeshi: From Folk Art to Art Toy on NBC News

Despite the mispronunciation at the beginning and the embellishing a bit on the story behind the custom Kokeshi section, it's a pretty sweet piece. And all put together at the last minute, so I'm very happy with the results. Make sure you see this exhibition in-person... it's now NBC recommended ;)

And thank you to Edwin Ushiro for being on call to R E P R E S E N T! Make sure to check out his solo show, opening at LeBasse Projects in Culver City, September 12, 2009.

On An Animation High

I grew up listening to The Beatles and always marvel at their exploration of new sounds and identities. You can listen to any one of their songs and continue to find something new, little elements that makes them the creative and masterful innovators they were. I SUPER HEART The Beatles.
