Kokeshi 2009 Sneak

It's not until mid-next year but I had to share a peek into the project and proudly display the artists that will be contributing to the next Kokeshi show. There's a new shape (unreleased) and a bevy of new artists for 2009. Artists' links have been added to the Flickr images. Click on above images to be taken to Flickr set of artists in next year's show.

An early "Thank You" to those contributing, I am truly honored!

wow- this is really exciting. i recognize the deer from the communication arts call for entries postcard. So they will be painting the blank wooden dolls? very cool. it reminds me a little of the alexander giruad (i think i am spelling this wrong) design show i saw at SFMOMA. he had wooden dolls i couldnt afford but they were VERY cool! very.

thanks for looking me up.

As I write this comment, I just had a talk with a friend of mine over the phone about my interest in acquiring a Japanese doll. As we were conversating, he introduced to me the kokeshi dolls. It was the first time I heard of the word 'kokeshi.' It so happened that he has a collection of these dolls and he is willing to sell a few items to me. I surfed the internet and search for kokeshi doll images and it landed to your blogsite. I am thankful that I have one blogger who has dedicated a site for kokeshi dolls. And I am also thankful for helping me learn about RSS feeds through your article on RSS feeds. The truth is I am new with the blogging idea. And I am still learning these new terms as I go along with blogging.
